Big Brother 21 Twists: Christie Pitches Cliff A Plan

Christie and Cliff on Big Brother 21

Saturday was a busy day for powers in the Big Brother 21 house as Jack set his PoV redraw into play and Christie worked her angles with Cliff to set a plan for Monday’s Veto meeting. There’s so much smoke being blown around this weekend it appears uncertain where the truth lies.

Jack’s power was burned to give a second shot at the Veto players draw and it really didn’t turn out any better for him, especially since Jackson won the Veto and is set to save himself on Monday. Now Christie has a chance to use her power to upgrade Jackson’s Veto to a Diamond Veto but what I’m seeing is Christie doesn’t actually want to use her power.

Throughout the evening after the Veto comp we heard both sides of Christie’s tale. She wanted to use the Power to protect Tommy. Wait, no she didn’t want to use it because Jackson was pressuring her to do it and she wouldn’t fold to his demands. It was as though Christie was playing both sides of the coin while searching for a reason to avoid giving up what she might need later for herself.

Flashback to 7:10 PM BBT (get the Free Trial) on Cams 1/2 as Christie meets with Cliff in the HOH room. She’s feeling out what he’d want to do and he’s offering ideas on how they can coordinate this next step together. Cliff offers that he’s fine letting her pick who goes up to avoid having to use her power. She likes that. They both agree Bella is troublesome in the house and want to get her out.

Cliff assures Christie that neither she nor Tommy would go up if she didn’t use the twist power and left the choice up to him. Cliff settled on offering Holly or Analyse as potential renoms before going the route Christie was suggesting with Bella as the target. Cliff agrees he wouldn’t be sorry to see Bella go this week.

Back downstairs Christie is telling Jack all about her great achievement in Big Brother 21 negotiations. She says Cliff promised on his family to renom Bella if they gave him some time of safety. Jack agrees that he wouldn’t target Cliff. Well, they might feel differently if Cliff is just bluffing his way through this one.

Rewind to much earlier in the day at 10:57 AM BBT Cams 3/4 to find Cliff, Nick, and Bella in the Lounge. They’re discussing how to convince Christie to not use her power so Cliff still has control. Remember this was before the Veto comp so they didn’t know to deal with Jackson holding the Veto, not that it particularly changes anything in their scenario. Nick encourages Cliff to gas up Christie, tell her what she needs to hear, and then do what he wants instead. Cliff says he’d put up Holly or Tommy because no one would want those two out instead of a big target like Jack.

So what’s really going on? I do think Cliff is lying to Christie and offering her the words she wants to hear. Christie wants to hear whatever means she can keep her power and save it for another week in case she needs that safety blanket. We’ll have a great day of fun Feeds if Christie declines to use the power, Jackson saves himself, and Cliff puts up one of the Shooters. He did promise Christie he wouldn’t renom her or Tommy but that leaves Analyse and Holly up for grabs putting Cliff’s promise somewhere in the gray zone. Cliff won’t have renom’d Bella as he discussed but he also won’t have renom’d Christie or Tommy as promised.

What do you think Cliff will do on Monday? Will Christie play her power and let Jackson name the renom? If she does then Bella goes up. If she doesn’t then Cliff has a range of options and we could have a real messy few days depending on which way he wants to take this.
