Big Brother 21: Final 3 Prepares For Round 2 – Final HOH

Final 3 on BB21

We’re one round down and two more to go on Big Brother 21’s Final HOH competitions after last night’s battle between Jackson, Holly, and Nicole. Now there’s one more chance for the two who missed out in the first round and here’s what we can expect.

Jackson won the first round, no surprise really, and we’ll have to wait for Sunday’s episode to see just how that all went down. Retells made this sound like a pretty cool comp with an Indiana Jones theme of sorts featuring both mental and physical challenges rather than a straight up endurance battle. It’s a shame they don’t show these on the Feeds like they did for years but that’s production shutting us out for ya.

So you may remember Jackson had a big plan that he would throw Round 1 to Holly so he could face off against Nicole in the likely more mental challenge of Round 2. It was actually a good plan as Nicole knows her stuff and Holly hasn’t performed as well in mental comps as Jackson has done. But when it came down to it, Jackson decided he needed to beat Holly and guarantee his own spot in the R3 faceoff comp, leaving Holly to fend for herself and potentially cutting their chances at locking F2. Nicole wasn’t even close! It was Holly right behind Jackson and he decided to scrap what was actually a decent plan in lieu of an impulsive decision. We’ll find out soon enough if that was a bad idea for the showmance!

Holly Allen’s win record:
Holly has won two competitions this season. An endurance comp (hanging by the cables) and the ball rolling comp. Not bad at all. However, she hasn’t performed well enough to win any of the mental comps for either HOH or Veto along the way. That could be an issue in Round 2 for Holly.

Nicole Anthony’s win record:
Nicole has three wins under her belt with an endurance comp (the one Holly says she was “bullied” to throw), the DE HOH (mental / physical), and the Veto with BB Comics (mental / physical). It looks like Nicole is definitely still a contender for this second round.

Looking back at the past three seasons’ Final HOH Round 2 comps we’ve had a steady mix of game event recall and demanding physical aspects with lots of running back and forth to get the lowest time.

BB20 – Round 2:
HGs had to pick out the right names and climb a wall to set the piece in place.

BB19 – Round 2:
HGs had to traverse the backyard to collect missiles and launch them at targets in the field which matched certain answers.

BB18 – Round 2:
HGs ran across the backyard to set up HG cutouts in a cart and then snap a picture of them at the right time. That one looked incredibly demanding with the queue runs.

Now if this was Jackson versus Nicole then I’d say he’s the heavy favorite to win and even then Nicole wouldn’t be totally out, but this matchup is a big change. Nicole has a real shot at winning something like one of these but so does Holly. It should be a pretty good match up and that’s fun to keep us guessing rather than having fans already writing off the F2 as a foregone conclusion with Jackson and Holly sharing the confetti.

Of course Big Brother could throw us for a spin and we don’t get the typical R2 competition. R1 ended up not being a straight endurance like BB20 or BB19 was but it does sound more like BB18’s racing around endurance comp. Who knows! Not this guy.

We should find out on Saturday whether Nicole or Holly has won Round 2 of the Final HOH for Big Brother 21 to decide who will battle it out in R3’s expected Q&A challenge. Now a Jackson vs Nicole faceoff in R3 could be very exciting and competitive so I’m hoping for a nail bitter finish to the season. What about you? Who do you think will take Round 2 and end up in R3 for finale night?
