Big Brother 21 Episode 12 Recap: Boss Hogg Takes Control

Cliff —  just call him Boss — Hogg went from evicted, to back in the game, to HOH, to making the biggest move in the game so far this season. But will it all be for nothing because of another annoying game power?

Sunday night’s episode picks up right after Cliff won the Camp Comeback competition. And everyone is shocked. But Nick, Bella and Sam are still trying to figure out what went down with the vote to keep Nicole over Cliff. Nick tells the others that all they had to do was tell him they wanted to vote Cliff out and he would have been OK. Tommy and Christie tells him they didn’t think they could come to him with that plan.

Analyse tells Nick and Bella that they were just too obsessed with sending Nicole out. They swear they would have been OK with it so they could have all voted together.

Meanwhile, Nicole is shocked but very happy it wasn’t her who got evicted. So Nicole is the least of everyone’s worries right now. Jackson and Holly decide to jump at the opportunity to try to convince Cliff that they voted him out because they knew he would have the best shot at coming back. But Cliff isn’t buying that.

Cliff, Nicole and Jessica have finally realized that the fact that there are nine people in a room arguing over what happened at the eviction must mean they have or had a deal. Cliff says they need to win HOH and make that split a crack.

Speaking of which, it’s time for the Head of Household Competition! This competition is an elimination mental competition. Nicole and Holly are the first out of the competition. Kathryn and Bella are the next two out. Jessica and Analyse are the next two to be eliminated. Sam and Jackson are the next two out of the game. It’s down to Tommy, Jack, Cliff and Christie. Tommy and Christie are the next two out. That leaves Jack and Cliff.

In the final round, it’s Cliff who answers correctly first so he is the new Head of Household! Cliff tells Nick right away that he is safe. So Nick and Bella are very happy with these results. Everyone else, however, isn’t quite as happy. But it doesn’t take long for the Six Shooters to try to figure out who to get Cliff to nominate Bella and Nick. Of course Christie’s power is already being discussed by the group. They think they can use that power as leverage to control Cliff’s nominations.

Jackson goes to Cliff to make a pitch. He first tells Cliff that it would be great for Nick and Bella to go this week. So he says he will go up as pawn and then he can put Bella up. Jackson says that way it will look like he’s nominated a half of each big couple in the house. Jackson says that move will take the target off Cliff’s back next week. And it’s time for Christie to talk to Cliff.

Christie tells Cliff that them getting him out last week was an isolated event. She said it was more about keeping Nicole and not getting Cliff out. She then tells him all about her power. Cliff lets us know that learning about that power does change things. He says he has to really think about his nominations now.

At the nomination ceremony, Cliff decides to go all in and nominates Jack and Jackson for eviction. That is easily the biggest and smartest move of the season. And it would end up a pretty flawless week if Christie didn’t have that power. Who knows how the week will play out with that in mind.
