Big Brother 17 Twist Revealed: ‘Big Brother Takeover’

The Big Brother 17 twist has been revealed as CBS introduces the “Big Brother Takeover” featuring surprises every week for the new cast of Houseguests to “shake up” the house.

The new Big Brother Takeover sends in a guest each week with the purpose of introducing a new twist in to the game and the first week will double up with a guest appearing on both of the two premiere night events for some double twist trouble. So just what should we expect?

“This is going to be the biggest BIG BROTHER ever! Surprise guests, twists every week all summer long and, of course, Zingbot!” said Executive Producer Rich Meehan. “But the Houseguests better keep their focus, because BIG BROTHER is all about relationships. Trust me, with all the twists and turns, those bonds will be more important than ever, because at the end of the week, it’s your housemates that send you packing on eviction night.”

Yeah, of course Zingbot. But what’s the focus on bonds? Is that just a general reference to needing allies or could he be hinting at something more?

As for the surprise guests, I’m thinking it’ll be a mix of past Houseguests and CBS stars looking to cross promote. No word on any specifics for the twists about to be delivered, but weekly events sounds pretty rough. Maybe they’re making up for last summer’s fizzle on the “twist after twisted twist!” promise. What do you hope to see with this new “Takeover” twist?

  1. I like it. If they actually make it live up to the hype – which they rarely tend to do – these weekly twists could be a lot of fun and keep things interesting.

But then again, I can already see the accusations of production meddling with the game when one of the twists ends up biting one of the top dogs in the house.

  2. Either one of two things happens:

1.) A whole week of strategy and deal making get built up on the feeds, only for it all to be rendered meaningless by some idiotic twist.

    OR

2.) It prevents another Bomb Squad from conquering the game through overwhelming numbers that give them the advantage in comp wins, especially if they bring back that terrible double HOH rule.

  3. Also, Zach hasn’t been on Twitter recently, so I expect him to come back for this twist.

  4. I love twists but one a week seems a bit much… BBCAN was pushing it at like 4 the entire season so I don’t know. I just want it to start already!

  5. There is a big age gap in the mix that will illuminate half the viewers remember we have been watching from the start

  6. What if they bring somebody from the houseguest’s past? There are 16 key holes so I think 2 extra people from the houseguest’s past will compete.

  7. how about no one can be on the block twice in a row…that would stir things up…

    • Great idea Nelson! No backdooring makes the game so much more difficult and makes other people play harder.

  8. Guys, ever noticed the similarities of some of the housemates’ occupations if not personalities, etc?

    2 LGBT members
    2 minorities
    2 college students
    2 athletes
    2 retail employees
    2 poker players
2 people with media related jobs
    2 BB nerds
    2 seemingly unathletic men

    • Wow, you know I noticed similarities too.

      14 human beings
      14 people with hair

      14 english speaking people
      14 americans

There were a few more. But it’s really weird.

  9. i just smell a way for Big Brother to bring back frankie …
    ugh.

    this twist sounds stupid
and this will prob be another stupid season.

i agree, bring back classic BB rules .
if your gonna do another twist, bring back the Twin twist that they did once.
I would love to see a two twin castmates playing as one, again.
wouldn’t it be interesting if they had the whole cast thinking they were the “only” set of twins in a BB house?

    • I think it’s fairly certain that Frankie’s not coming back. He’s a judge in ABDC on MTV so he’ll be too preoccupied to show his face in the BB house.

      • I thought he said he was headed to Africa with his money for schools???wonder what happened? Africa might have declined….hahahaa! they probably saw him naked on twitter picture! teeny tiny….

  10. I wonder if it’s anything similar to Big Brother UK’s Celebrity Hijack season: youtube(dot)com/watch?v=N7cVIw9ymOc

  11. I’m all for twists. I don’t want another season of a unanimous vote every week, and no real action happening because everybody just wants to do “what the house wants”.
All you people whining about BBCan, at least it was entertaining.

  12. As long as I don’t have to look at frankie this summer I’m good! It should be interesting.
