Spoilers: Big Brother 16 Move-In Will Be Divided Groups

While we’ve discussed plenty of Big Brother 16 speculation of a teams arrangement we can now confirm that yes, it appears as though the Two Night Move-In Big Brother premiere will feature HGs entering in two groups of eight each night over the Wednesday and Thursday episodes.

Thanks to the quick eyes of reader @mgeater06, we can see the details from the upcoming schedule which describes Thursday night’s episode, the second half of the premiere:

“The second group of eight participants is introduced and as all houseguests settle into the home where they will be competing Julie Chen reveals details about two new twists…”

We’ve also seen in the general descriptions online that Wednesday night’s episode will include the first Head of Household competition. So it does appear there will be predetermined halves to the house with teams of eight set up and ready from the very start.

Note: I’m using “teams” and “groups” interchangeably here. We don’t know if they’ll play as teams going forward after move-in, but they will be competing along split divisions for at least the start.

Team A will enter on Wednesday and compete for Head of Household. Then on Thursday night Team B will repeat the process. That’s how we’ll end up with first set of Double HoHs.

As for if Team A’s HoH will nominate from its own team or the other side is yet to be seen, but this is a definite change up for a game play we’ve come to know. Will the uninitiated HGs have an advantage here over the super fans who are expecting and preparing for one thing but will be confronted with something completely else? Discuss!

  1. I wouldn’t think the teams would stay for the whole time the twist is around. I personally think that this will only be for the premiere to get the first 2 HOH’s. Everything else will be an individual competition.

    • Good call. Might not be long term at all & could just be for the premiere. I’d rather see that, but lots of other aspects that would still need to work without teams (mainly, what if not teams and both HoHs want to nom same HG?).

      • That last question is making me think that maybe both HOH’s could possibly work together to get one person out. For example, one HOH has both of their nominees acting as pawns and the other HOH’s nominees have both of the HOH’s target. That could be an idea.

      • I wondered too if they’d work together, but in a new interview w/ THR, Grodner explicitly states “they’re operating independently.” So I don’t think it’ll be a collaboration on noms, though it’s possible they work around production’s plans and do that anyway.

  2. Do you think the two team will be divided from those who applied vs. those that were recruited. I noticed in the interviews, one of the first questions was did you apply or get recruited.

    • Oh I just asked that question to them because it’s something I always want to know. Purely selfish questioning on my part. :) It could be how they split them, but I’d be surprised if that’s it.

  3. I just noticed watching the media video (which should be posted on here) that for the HOH Compettion there are four arrows ( one on the top left part of the first H , the o is split in two arrows, and the bottom right on the last H . . . 2 HoH and Noms . . . switching powers etc. . . something to think about

    • They’ve used that same logo design in past seasons.

And yes, the media day content is scheduled to go up later today. Already had a stack of content for the day plus some surprise news that took priority on publishing order today.

      • Really, I don’t remember the arrows. Now I am going to have to go back and scope it out lol! And no problem about posting the media day it was more like a heads up that it was posted :)

      • Cool! I saw those two orange stools very clearly now also. WE shall see the memory walls are pretty cool. I was also thinking about the key holder, will there be two or what. Interesting

  4. I hope everyone has gotten the live feeds, I have! First time and I’m so excited!! Looking forward to seeing all the drama!!!

  5. Maybe the first group to enter is female and the second male (or vice versa). That way we would end up with an HOH of each gender. Once HOHs are established, teams could be split by the HOH randomly choosing numbers or names or a blind pick from a bag like in the veto comp choosing.

  6. I think it would be complimentary to the new set-up they for this season having the HG’s live in two separate “houses” within the BB compound. This was utilized before in another BB version were two sets of players fought for immunity every week. Losing team will then be faced with the threat of eviction. (Check it out on Youtube at watch?v=3XTXHQbRblk)

A “two-house” format would make perfect sense when players compete during the dual HOH and BOB comps, in a truly Survivor-esque fashion, for the next 5 or so weeks.

Then again, I doubt production had that in mind when they were laying out their ideas for the season but we’ll see.
