Allison Grodner Interview: Power Apps, The Lack Of Showmances & Tyler On TKO

Tyler carries Josea around on Big Brother 20

Big Brother Executive Producer Allison Grodner has graciously agreed to do interviews with us each week and here we come with the first installment of the Big Brother 20 season! We had the chance to ask Allison about the App Twist, showmances coming up light, and about Tyler’s upcoming CBS crossover.

Big Brother Network: We’ve seen some mighty BB Power Apps and Crapps so far. What were some special powers or punishments that didn’t make the cut for inclusion in the BB App Store’s short list?

Allison Grodner: Coming up with these powers and punishments in the pre-season is always fun for the team. I wish I could tell you more about what didn’t make it but I wouldn’t want to spoil something that could come up on a future season. We are still figuring out a way to integrate holograms.

BBN: Tyler Crispen has been shown as an upcoming contestant on CBS’s TKO show. Does Big Brother’s production have any involvement in approving or suggesting which HGs would be used since that appearance was filmed before BB20 started, but while he was still pending as a Houseguest?

Grodner: CBS and Big Brother production are involved in all the decisions being made with casting.

BBN: Aside from the now defunct showmance between Swaggy and Bayleigh this season has been surprisingly showmance free. Which of course is causing its own trouble for a few HGs. But are you surprised that these single HGs are keeping their eyes off their co-eds and instead on the $500K prize this season?

Grodner: I think we have a lot of gamers in the house this season, which is great, but the summer is young and I think there are still a lot of possibilities for showmances. Fessy and Haleigh are getting closer, and Tyler seems to have a flirtmance with a few people in the house that could result in something.
