A big congratulations goes out to Ian Terry on his Big Brother 14 win. Making it to the end is no easy feat nor is beating a previous winner and season long mastermind. Pulling off both of those put an extra $500,000 in his pocket as he heads back to school. I had the chance to chat with Ian and ask him about the season and his plans for the future.

Big Brother Network (BBN): You said some rough things about Dan last night in the backyard interviews. Now that you’ve had a little time to decompress, do you still feel the same way about Dan?

Ian Terry: No. At the end of the day it is a game show. Was I disappointed in the cross thing? Had he voted me out if he won that final HoH? Or the fact that he dangled the $50K in my face? Yeah, it was definitely disappointing, but at the end of the day it is a game show. I’m over it.

BBN: You had a few moments of your own where you were backstabbing and betraying your own team with Boogie and Frank. How did that compare and why are you more okay with how you did it than what Dan did?

Ian Terry: When the game reset I had never actually made any sort of promise to Boogie or Frank that late in to the game. I think they just assumed they had me and I knew full well from things I heard in earshot that I was expendable to them the whole time.

BBN: Even when you told Boogie you’d vote to keep him?

Ian Terry: Yeah, that was hard but I mean they really just assumed they had me wrapped around their finger. It hurt. I cried like hell.

BBN: As a superfan, did you ever feel starstruck by the coaches and did that effect your gameplay?

Ian Terry: Yeah, I would definitely say I was starstruck by all four of them. It’s really crazy to play with some of the legends. Fortunately by the time they entered the game I was sort of used to them. So I really treated them like they were just any other player. I didn’t see them as coaches. I saw them as other players.

BBN: Now that you know the Quack Pack was formed differently than you thought, has your perception of that alliance changed?

Ian Terry: No, I still adore the Quack Pack. I think are a great group of people, especially Britney. I think she’s going to be a friend for a long time outside of this house. I’m really, really happy about it.

BBN: Did you agree to throw the first round of the final HoH comp, or did you actually fall off and just tell Dan you threw it?

Ian Terry: I did throw it. Though I don’t completely trust Dan at times, he’s kind of a shady character, I kind of owed him at least that. It wasn’t an entire competition, just part 1, and he did just save me from certain death so I owed him that in my mind.

BBN: Lots of fans want to know, will you be taking the hammock back home with you?

Ian Terry: I didn’t request it. I think I will be getting a hammock for my own house. I really enjoyed having it this summer and it was a really great way to relieve stress for me.

BBN: Would you come back for an All-Stars?

Ian Terry: I would like to finish my degree, but I would come back for an All-Stars, if asked. I would say quite likely, yeah.

BBN: Thanks, Ian. Congratulations on your win.

A couple of other interesting moments from the call included Ian’s plans for the first thing he’ll buy with all his winnings. He’s going to buy thirty pairs of colored sunglasses. As for another big moment of drama at the finale, when it came to Dan’s gold cross, Ian believes that won him the game or at least got him a few more votes. As we heard from the Jury members over the past day it seems unlikely that they were still deciding on how to vote or were swayed by this. Dan had already lost at that point, but Ian’s view does explain why he pushed that so hard during the show.

I also asked Ian if he appreciated the irony of railing against Dan’s “scumbagging,” as he called it, considering that behavior is what kept him in the game and sent Shane home. Without Dan’s “scumbagging” Ian would have been evicted and it’d have likely been either Shane or Danielle winning instead. He said he did get it, but then started talking percentages about Dan’s chances. I’m not sure he really got that he was slamming a game play that while it nearly cost him it ultimately pushed him to the win.

It was nice to see a superfan do so well in the game as they’re typically not so successful, or if they do make it far they flub it in the end. Hopefully he’ll inspire more longtime fans to get out there and get in the game.

Take a walk down memory lane with Ian Terry’s Big Brother 14 preseason interview:

He came. He saw. He was denied a double win. Dan Gheesling was praised by viewers for his master gameplay but criticized for his ruthless approach. In the end the jury sided with hurt feelings and it ended his incredible journey. Dan might not have won the Jury over but he won our poll on who should have won after the Jury votes were revealed.

Today I had the chance to talk with Dan and get his thoughts on the Big Brother season and how it all turned out. Read on for what he had to say.

Big Brother Network (BBN): I called it a mistake at the time, so prove me wrong. Why didn’t you let the Frank and Jenn evictions go to a tie and force Ian to handle their evictions?

Dan Gheesling: That’s a great question. At the end of the day, especially with the Frank thing, I had just pulled off that move to get Britney out of the house and I couldn’t afford to lose any ground with the Quack Pack. So I figured if I threw my vote that way it would definitely jeopardize my position in that alliance in the house. The same thing with Jenn. I told Jenn right before the eviction that she was going home no matter what and I said I hope she understood why I had to do what I had to do.

Doing that [forcing a tie-breaker] wouldn’t really gain me a lot of ground with Jenn and Frank’s vote because eventually they would have found out in the Jury anyway. My whole goal was to get to the Final 2, get one of those seats, and get my shot at talking some people in to throwing a vote my way. Had I not done those things, had I thrown a vote that way, maybe I don’t get to the end. Maybe I do. Maybe I don’t. My goal is just to get to that seat because I figured I’d have a shot at talking my way in to the half-million.

BBN: Speaking of the Final 2, a lot of readers thought you’d have a better chance against Danielle. From what we heard from the Jury it seemed like they were dead set against you, but do you think you would have done better against Danielle?

Dan Gheesling: In hindsight, I’m pretty sure she would have been a lot less harsh on me and maybe not been as pointed as Ian especially after how mad he got. At the same time I think you’re right. Regardless they were not going to give this game to someone who had won it before, especially another coach who backstabbed everyone. That’s why I feel good about what I did. I left everything out on the field. I don’t have any regrets. I don’t feel like there were any major blunders that cost me the game.

Read Dan Gheesling’s complete step-by-step guide on how to be cast on Reality TV:

BBN: If you could cherry-pick one of those other 7 Jury members to swap with Ian, who do you think would give you your best odds?

Dan Gheesling: That’s a great question. No one has asked me that. My dream final three was myself, Danielle, and Jenn. And then I was hopefully going to get Danielle to dump the HoH to me and then take Jenn. That was my goal, my sure fire to scrounge up four votes. Then when things didn’t go that way I knew I was in trouble.

One thing I look back on was Danielle talking me in to keeping Shane when I had him on the platter and I kept him down. That’s one thing that would have maybe kept Jenn in this game longer. The other thing with that I knew with taking Jenn to the Final 3 is that I have to win to get in. Jenn wasn’t going to take me and Danielle might not have taken me because she thought she’d have beat Jenn.

At the end of the day it was my goal to secure a seat in the Final 2. When I blasted Shane out of the house I knew both Ian and Danielle were going to take me so I felt pretty good about that.

BBN: Did you throw Round 3 of the Final HoH?

Dan Gheesling: Contrary to popular belief, I did not throw it. Ian flat out beat me. I would have taken Ian to the Final 2 anyway, but in hindsight Ian and I both believed that Danielle was just so well liked in the Jury that we’d get slaughtered by her.

BBN: Which season, BB10 or BB14, did you enjoy more and which was more difficult?

Dan Gheesling: Fourteen was extremely, extremely difficult for me for multiple reasons. One is the fact that everyone knew who I was in the game and what I was capable of playing and two, the competition was a lot stiffer. Overall enjoyment, both were different in their own ways. Fourteen was cool for me because I got to play against legends like Boogie and Janelle and got to know what a great player Britney was firsthand. That was fun for me in that aspect.

But in the first season I felt like I had a little more fun because everyone was on the same even footing and I made a best friend in Memphis and we rode it out to the end. I just remember the end days with Memphis were a hundred times more enjoyable than the end days with Ian and Danielle. With Memphis and I the game was over. We trusted each other and it was just us two in the house hanging out. With Ian and Danielle there was a little bit of an age gap between us and we kinda ran out of things to talk about. With Memphis and I it was just two guys hanging out.

I enjoyed both seasons in completely different ways, but season fourteen was very, very difficult for me.

BBN: At the end of BB10, the Jury set up was completely different and allowed you more time to talk to the Jury, right?

Dan Gheesling: Yeah, basically the Jury was set and Memphis and I had a night to talk to them. There was no time limit. I think I might have talked for four to five minutes. That was a speech that I crafted and had a lot of time to think about. This one, the way BB14 was set up, it was definitely a lot more difficult to put a prolonged mist on a Jury because I had 90 seconds to squeeze in everything I did that I thought was worth of winning the game. But at the same time I knew that, so ultimately it falls on my shoulders for not convincing the Jury this time around.

BBN: And by the time the Jury gets to talk to the Final 2 they’ve already decided.

Dan Gheesling: It’s unfortunate because the only thing I wanted, and maybe I’ll never know, all I wanted was a fair shake at four votes. Four people with an open mind to consider it. What really, it didn’t bother me, but disappointing was I heard after the fact was Jenn voted based on solely because she didn’t want to give the game to someone else who had won it before as compared to someone on the merit of how they played the game. That was disappointing to me as a player and a lover of the game.

BBN: We posted a poll on our site today that asked “Who Should Have Won? Ian or Dan?” and with over five thousand votes you took it with 58% of the vote [at the time of the interview]. So it seems the viewers did not side with the Jury on this one.

Dan Gheesling: Well that’s a moral victory, but you know at the end of the day Ian played a solid game and he deserved to win. I’m happy for him and he’s going to do good things with that.

BBN: Thanks, Dan. Congratulations on making it to the Final 2.

There were a few extra tidbits I took away from the call with Dan so I’ll add them on here.

It wasn’t until he saw the HGs’ concern for him after the solitary dance party that he decided he had a chance to pull off the “Funeral” event.

He gave an eloquent description of his “dirty” game. He said you can’t play a ruthless game halfway, it’s all or nothing. He couldn’t backstab just some of the HGs, he had to do it to all of them. Once he turned that corner it was full on.

When asked if he thought the Jury was bitter he refused to call them that but instead said he doesn’t think they voted based on game but rather emotions.

As Big Brother fan site writer we depend entirely on an entertaining cast. If there’s nothing happening in the house then it’s hard to get blood from a stone when you want to share a story or ignite a discussion. Thankfully this season was routinely saved by Dan and his mischief which is probably why I enjoyed him so much this season. Love him or hate him, he was a fountain of content and I greatly appreciated him for that.

Danielle Murphree nearly made it to the very end of Big Brother 14 before being cut just short of the Final 2 after her coach and ally Dan lost to Ian in the final HoH competition. Today I had the chance to talk with Danielle and ask her about the game, some of her questionable moves, and what’s in the future for her. Despite falling just shy of the money Danielle was in great spirits and didn’t hold back.

Big Brother Network (BBN): Despite everything Dan did you kept going back to him. Why did you keep being willing to forgive him and try again?

Danielle Murphree: He would make the comment that he hadn’t done anything to hurt me in the game. When I would try to recall, I was still there. He hadn’t hurt my game and had never voted to evict me. I wanted to believe he was a good person because I kept thinking back to season 10 and how he played then and was a good guy. I was completely “Mist-ified.”

BBN: It was hard for viewers to separate fact from fiction when it come to some of your stories. Some of the things you said about conversations with HGs that weren’t really accurate. Was that a strategy you had or were you just playing with the other HGs?

Danielle Murphree: You’re going to have to give me an example.

BBN: When you came back and said Janelle was yelling at you but we saw it was a very calm conversation. Or when you said you made Ian cry the other day and that didn’t really happen.

Danielle Murphree: Ian teared up. Ian teared up. I guess I exaggerated that a little bit. Yeah, Janelle didn’t yell at me. Janelle was very sweet with me. I guess it was more game play because I was more trying to test the waters with Dan. I thought him and Janelle might have some kind of deal. I think that’s who I told it to, correct?

BBN: There were a lot of people.

Danielle Murphree: So yeah, I exaggerated for game play. I shouldn’t have. I do apologize. It wasn’t just to maliciously hurt anybody.

BBN: After you joined the Jury you leaned over and said something to someone off-camera that the mic didn’t pick up. What were you trying to tell the Jury?

Danielle Murphree: I was asking Jenn what was going on. What’s the feel? Because when I sat down it was very awkward vibe in the Jury. I had just heard Britney’s comment before so I was confused and was asking what was going on.

BBN: As it ended up you were the last woman in the house. Was that part of your strategy or just how things worked out?

Danielle Murphree: No, it was just how things worked out. It was never my intention to be the last woman. I’m very proud and flattered to be the last woman, but it would have been nice to have another female present.

BBN: Do you regret the Dan-vote? Would you take it back?

Danielle Murphree: I don’t like to play the woulda-shoulda-coulda game or the what-if’s. I am glad that Ian won. I think it would have be nice for Ian to win 7-0 because I think he deserved it but I did give my word to Dan. I did say I would vote for Dan. I didn’t want to break my word. I just wish I never would have told Dan I’d vote for him.

BBN: When you first sat down with Julie Chen there was a crowd reaction that seemed like you saw something. Did you see something in the house [on the monitors]?

Danielle Murphree: Yeah. I saw them jump around and Dan was giggling. Then Dan did the “suck it” thing. I was just like “are you serious?”

BBN: It was hard to see. We weren’t sure if you could see. We thought it seemed like you saw it, them doing the Renegade move.

Danielle Murphree: Was that a Renegade move? Were they called the Renegades?

BBN: I think that was what they did. They clapped hands, spun, and hands as guns.

Danielle Murphree: Ahh, see, that’s going to get me even more fired up. Yeah, I don’t doubt it at all.

BBN: Thanks, Danielle. Congratulations on making it to Final 3.

We chatted a little bit more from there on Dan’s betrayal and explained that yes, he was planning to take her until after the first round of the last competition. There were also some other nuggets from the call that I’ll just drop in a list here.

Dan and Danielle are not currently on speaking terms.

Danielle believes Shane’s feelings were genuine and not game play.

Danielle is open to pursuing a relationship with Shane.

Post-show was awkward with her and JoJo and Janelle.

Danielle believes she would have beat Dan but lost to Ian.

Danielle would consider going back for another season.

Danielle won’t go to the Vegas or SuperPass parties so she can avoid negativity.

If she had won Round 3, she would have taken Shane over Dan.

On that last one, Dan said he doesn’t believe her and thinks she’s trying to save face. Hard to be sure, but I think he could be right.

Overall it was a fun interview. Danielle said the questions were grilling her, but I think things went pretty easy on her. I imagine she had a long rough day of tough interviews. Hopefully she takes some time away from the ol’ innerwebs and lets things calm down before she jumps in and reads what fans had to say.

Check out our preseason interview with Danielle to compare how she played the game to what she planned to do heading in there.

Wow! What a season! Big Brother came to an exciting conclusion last night after 10+ weeks of incredible action and while I might have been disappointed in the results it was still an amazing ride. In the end the whole thing felt like BB4 where the villain loses out to the better liked HG, but it’s a game and that’s just how things go sometimes.

Congratulations to Ian. He played a hell of a game. Ian won a lot of competitions and did it when it mattered most for his survival. I was disappointed in his indignant attitude last night during the final speeches and even later in the backyard interviews. He had just walked out with with a half-million dollars over Dan but couldn’t keep himself from calling Dan “slimy” and a “scumbag” despite the same “scumbagging” moves like blindsiding Shane being what kept Ian in the game. In the end it was his likability among his fellow HGs that snagged him the win. It was a style that worked, so good for him.

Clarification: I don’t think Ian played a bad game. He made a lot of good moves and really did play a great game. I just feel that Dan played a greater game.

Then there’s Dan. Master of the Mist. Puller of the strings. Dan got second despite pulling the biggest moves of the season. Sigh. His efforts to remind the Jury that this was a game fell on deaf ears. Despite watching the big win slip through his fingers Dan left the house with a positive attitude and praised Ian for his win. Dan, you may not have won the Jury but you created the most entertainment for us to write about this season, so thank you for that. And don’t beat yourself up with the “should I have taken Danielle” scenario. You would have lost that 6-1 as well as we learned from the Jury.

Dear Jury, you get an F. It all came down to how they’d vote: personal or gameplay. The answer turned out to be personal. When I took to Twitter to ask readers if they thought the Jury voted personal or on gameplay the response was overwhelming that these were emotional, bitter votes. If you don’t believe me just listen to the backyard interviews for yourself. Shane told Jeff it was a personal vote against Dan. Frank told Jeff he was still bitter at Dan. Britney told SuperPass that Dan’s game was “amazing, amazing” but she had such a personal connection to Ian. She also told Jeff that a ketchup bottle would have beat Dan because that Jury refused to vote for him. We’ve got a poll below where you can vote and share your thoughts on if the Jury went by strategy or emotion.

The biggest Jury offender award goes to Jenn. She told SuperPass that she didn’t vote for Dan because he had won before and she didn’t want a repeat winner. Jenn then goes on to say that she had to give Dan props because “credit where credit is due.” This was the same HG who spewed venom over Ian even up to when she cast her vote. She spent 75+ days in the game, and then throws all that out and voted based on who hadn’t won the game before. What a waste of your entire summer, Jenn. This is why Big Brother shouldn’t be casting HGs based on random messages they’ve posted to Facebook. Try for someone who has a basic concept of game play and reward.

Another congratulations goes out and this one is for Frank. He won the title of “America’s Favorite” plus a check for $25,000. Considering Frank never once won a week in our popularity poll and as of last night he was tied for 3rd with Britney (he’s now in 4th) in our overall “Vote for your Favorite” poll it seems more likely that Frank won by default. Looking over things it seems the 1st & 2nd place HGs have never won America’s Choice. If a HG could place and win AC then Ian would have won it. I guess CBS doesn’t want to let them double dip and instead spread around the prizes which is kinda nice. Or maybe Frank really did win it and all the polls are wrong.

Addendum: I forgot to address the season’s twist! Let me add a blurb here on that.

Twists rarely go as well as they’re planned out on a whiteboard somewhere, but I’ll admit I actually really liked this one. Well, until the coaches were slammed in to the game that is. I loved the idea of having HGs who were effectively safe from eviction and could mouth off or cause chaos without fear of direct results. This separate tier of HGs also offered up a whole new suite of competitions each week as just another added bonus. What wasn’t to like? Of course all good things come to an end and production ruined it by using the coaches to fill the HG gap left by Willie’s expulsion. What a shame.

So the season is over and we’re all done with this crew of HGs and while we might be sad to see the game go that also brings the promise of a brand new season! Yes, that’s right, CBS has renewed the show for Big Brother 15 next summer! We’ll have details up later on that along with details on how to apply, but for now you can set your reminders to join us again next year.

A huge, HUGE thank you to all of our readers. This site would be nothing without you and we’re always thrilled to have you join us. Thanks for stopping by each day, discussing the latest events and spoilers, and especially for signing up for the Feeds through our links and banners. Your support is what makes all of this possible and I greatly appreciate all of you for it. We’ll see you again soon!

Just for fun, here are a couple of polls. First you can decide if the Jury voted based on personal and emotional feelings or if they voted based on game play. Secondly we’ve got a poll for who you think should have won. Ian or Dan? Share your thoughts!

On Wednesday night, the super fan beat the former winner and took home the Big Brother 14 prize. Yes, Ian Terry was crowned the winner of Big Brother, taking home the $500,000. Dan Gheesling walks away with the $50,000 second-place prize.

Earlier in the night, we got to see the end of the first round of the final Head of Household. We saw that Dan asked both Ian and Danielle to throw it (separately of course) and they both obliged. Dan won the first round and moved on to the final round.

In the second round, it was Ian vs. Danielle. And in case Danielle couldn’t pull off the win, Dan had to come up with a plan. He had to keep Ian thinking they’re Final 2 deal is solid while having Danielle to ruffle his feathers. They basically need Ian to throw the final HoH so Dan can win and take Danielle to the Final 2 instead of Ian.

During the second part, that scenario plays out and Ian wins by completing the challenge in 6:04. Danielle finished in 7:31. So it’s Ian vs. Dan. Will Ian throw it? Will Dan take Danielle if he win? Or has he switched to his Renegades alliance with Ian? At this point, we’re all asking these questions.

It sounds like he’s still leaning toward Danielle and their little plan goes into action. Danielle lays into Ian. Dan plays dumb. Ian isn’t buying it. He’s not going to throw it. So Dan has to win it if he wants a Final 2 with Danielle.

Up next we get the usual nighttime, campfire jury debate. The six jurors welcome Shane to the jury and they go back and forth on who deserves to win. It sounds like Danielle isn’t getting many votes, but Dan and Ian are seemingly neck and neck with the jurors.

The final round of the Head of Household starts and it becomes clear that neither Ian or Dan are going to throw the HoH. In the end, it was Ian that that seemed to know the jury members better than Dan and he won with five points to Dan’s two.

So now it’s up to Ian to decide who is going to sit next to him for the jury’s vote. Ian honors his word, which was rare this season, and chooses to evict Danielle.

The Jury is introduced next and Ashley, Britney, Frank, Joe, Jenn and Shane are joined by Danielle, and from the looks on the other jury members’ faces, they’re pretty happy that Danielle finished no higher than third place. The jury then goes into their questions and it becomes clear right away that they’re not going to easily reward any gameplay they’ve considered dirty. Ian comes out looking like an angel to Dan after the jury is through. But will that matter to the jury? Will Dan’s ruthless gameplay beat out Ian’s loyalty to the Quack Pack?

By a vote of 6-1, Ian takes the grand prize. Frank is announced as America’s Choice and walks away with the $25,000.

Are you happy with the outcome? Who did you want to win Big Brother 14?

Thanks for watching Big Brother 14 and reading us! See you next season with Big Brother 15!

We’re about to find out who won Big Brother 14 as the Jury is nearly set and will soon cast their votes. Before we get to the voting we’ll have to wait through the final Head of Household competition. Two of the three portions have already played out so we’ll be watching just the third part live before moving on to the jury and votes.

While we wait I wanted to give a BIG thanks to all of our readers this summer. Thanks for joining us each day to discuss what was going on in the house and a special thanks to everyone who signed up for the Live Feeds through our links and banners. All of you make this site possible and it’d be nothing without you. Okay, now on to the winner.

We learn that yes, Dan convinced both Danielle and Ian to drop during the first round. Ian agreed to this minutes before the live eviction as part of his deal to evict Shane rather than Ian. He then talks Danielle in to doing the same.

Big Brother 14 – Final HoH: Round 1

Dan won Round 1

Big Brother 14 – Final HoH: Round 2

Ian won Round 2

We finally get some time with the Jury. This deliberation will be fun. No big surprises here. Jenn is very pro-Dan while Joe and Frank are pushing hard against Dan. From their comments it sounds like Dan would do better against Danielle, but he may be in big trouble against Ian.

Now on to the live portion of the show. The winner of round 3 will decide who is the final evicted HG and who moves on to the Final 2. Lots of pressure here.

Big Brother 14 – Final HoH: Round 3 – Dan vs. Ian

Round 1: Both get it right.

Round 2: Both get it right.

Round 3: Ian gets it right.

Round 4: Ian gets it right.

Round 5: Ian gets it right.

That’s it. Ian wins the round.

Ian wins the final HoH! He’ll get to decide whether to take Dan or Danielle to the Final 2.

Big Brother 14 – Final Eviction

Ian decides to evict Danielle.

After the jury interrogates the Final 2 HGs they each get to place their votes. It takes at least 4 out of 7 votes to win the big prize.

Big Brother 14 – Jury Votes

Ashley: Ian

Britney: Ian

Frank: Ian

Joe: Ian

Jenn: Ian

Shane: Ian

Danielle: Dan

Ian wins 6-1. I guess Dan should have tried harder and taking Danielle.

Okay, so Shane’s comments make no sense after his vote was revealed and same goes for Jenn. I figured Shane would probably go against Dan, but Jenn?

Big Brother 14 – Finale results

Ian is the winner of Big Brother!

Congrats to Ian. He worked hard for it.

Big Brother 14 – America’s Vote

Frank is voted to win the $25,000 prize.

Wow. Frank? He tied for 3rd place in our poll, but I guess that’s close. Congrats!

The Live Feeds aren’t over yet! Right now you can watch the SuperPass Backyard Interviews. SuperPass will talk with all the HGs and they’re starting with Britney right now. Grab your Free Trial and watch along on the Live Feeds!

It all comes down to this. Tonight on Big Brother the season 14 winner will be crowned. Either Dan, Danielle, or Ian will win over the jury and be awarded a half-million dollar prize. I’ve already taken a detailed look at who I think will end up in the Final 2 and who has the best shot at the money, so I’ll skip that here, but vote for who you think will win.

Tonight’s show will last a full 90-minutes and start at 9:30PM ET/PT after the premiere of Survivor Philippines. Did you know we’ve got a Survivor fansite too? Join our Survivor Facebook and Twitter groups so you can get those updates and discussions all season. As part of tonight’s Big Brother finale we’ll get to watch the rest of the first part of the final HoH, the second round, and then third round will play out live.

Once the Final 2 HGs have been decided they’ll present their cases to the Jury and vie for the four votes needed to win. As for the Jurors we’ll get to watch their prerecorded deliberations from earlier this week back at the Jury House. Those can usually get pretty heated so I’d expect some sparks to fly. Once we get better insight from that debate it should help shape our expectations for tonight’s vote.

If you can’t wait to find out who won round one and round two of the final HoH competition then check out those Big Brother spoilers to learn more. We’ve also got an unofficial poll to gauge how the HGs could be doing in the America’s Vote poll to award one HG $25K for being the favorite player of the season. One HG is way out ahead in our poll and I think he could easily be the one to take home that special prize.

Today is the big day for Big Brother 14. We’re about to find out who wins a half-million dollars, who gets $50K, and who gets their stipend. Let’s take a look.

From what we’ve seen on the Live Feeds I think it’s safe to go ahead and predict who gets zilch right off the bat: Danielle. Until just the other day I thought we’d see Dan take his player on to the end, but private camtalk moments have revealed another plan. It looks like Dan may throw tonight’s third round to Ian and let him be the one to cut her loose. Danielle has spent the past few days making life unpleasant for Ian and he does not seem eager to return that favor by rewarding her with even the smaller prize.

With that in mind we can move on to the jury vote scenarios featuring Ian facing off against Dan. Assuming Danielle is the 7th juror, she’ll join Ashley, Britney, Joe, Frank, Jenn, and Shane as the BB14 HGs. A few days ago I did a quick back of the napkin analysis and figured Dan would knock it out of the park against either competitor, but upon further review I’m not so sure of that anymore. I do concede that I’ve weighed in heavier on the emotional/personal voting than strategic in my second analysis. When I look at things based on gameplay I was giving most of the votes to Dan, but we’ve seen everything while they’ve only had a portion of the events to take in to consideration.

Final 2: Dan Vs. Ian

Ashley: Ian nominated Ashley during the first double eviction night which lead to her elimination, but they did have a much closer friendship in the game than she ever did with Dan. I think she’s had time to forgive Ian and seems like a more emotional voter than strategic. I think she’ll vote for Ian.

Britney: This one is tough. Britney obviously gives Dan a lot of credit for his moves as we saw her debate in the Jury House, but there in her final few days and weeks in the house she did seem to have a close relationship with Ian. Being the only coach in the Jury both allows a certain freedom as there won’t be other coaches pressuring her to vote for the remaining coach. Ultimately I think she’ll go with game play and vote for Dan, but I think she could easily swing over to Ian and I won’t be surprised if she does.

Frank: Neither of these guys are favorites for Frank. Ian nominated Frank twice, but Dan did some serious betrayal and Frank was pretty angry about it. Once Frank has time to calm down I think he’ll go against Ian for his betrayal of Team Boogie. Frank won’t like it, but he may vote for Dan as more of a vote against Ian.

Joe: Ian really didn’t like Joe in the game, but I don’t think Joe felt the same way back at Ian. Meanwhile it was Dan who nominated Joe in the second double eviction which lead to him leaving the game. Joe also was not pleased with how Dan treated Danielle at the funeral and views him as a dirty player. Unless Dan is able to sway him in just 90 seconds tonight I think Joe could vote for Ian.

Jenn: This could be the first lock for Dan. Sure, Dan went against her in her eviction, but Jenn wanted Ian out as she repeatedly called him a “rat.” Jenn is going to vote for Dan.

Shane: Ouch. Shane is still hurting from his blindside eviction and I think it will keep him from voting for Dan. I don’t think Danielle will have time to convince him to vote in favor of Dan when she’s evicted tonight just before the final voting. I’m going to put Shane over in Ian’s column.

Danielle: Another lock for Dan. She told him last night she’ll vote for him and try to sway Shane if she doesn’t make it to the Final 2 but with the caveat that as long as it doesn’t seem like he threw it to Ian. If Dan is still going to throw it to Ian then he better be careful. Regardless, Danielle has blindly followed Dan all season so why stop now? She’ll vote for Dan.

All those votes come out to 4-3 in Dan’s favor, but dang it’s close. Frank and Britney’s votes could easily end up flipping and Ian leaves the winner 5-2 instead. Strategy vs. personal could decide the outcome tonight.

I really, really don’t think this scenario will happen, but we can still look at a Dan versus Danielle to see if he’s making the right choice in avoiding a Final 2 with her. A lot more of these guesses are based on emotional and personal decisions rather than gameplay because while I don’t think Danielle played a “bad” game, I don’t think what she accomplished stands up to what Dan did this season.

Final 2: Dan Vs. Danielle

Ashley: Just like with Dan, Ashley has very little connection to Danielle. This could be a coin toss decision. If she decides to go by gameplay then Dan gets it, but if she goes on an emotional factor then she could be swayed to support a newbie and vote for Danielle. I’ll lean this one toward Danielle.

Britney: With Ian out of the picture she’ll be able to fully support Dan. Easy choice.

Frank: Danielle really didn’t do anything to Frank which means if he’s still bitter then this could make it very easy for him to vote for Danielle.

Joe: Joe sided with Danielle after the “funeral” bit and I think he’ll stick by that. Another one for Danielle.

Jenn: In my first review I didn’t think Jenn would go “girl power” but she did seem pretty tight with Danielle after the rest of her team was demolished. She could vote for Danielle in that situation.

Shane: Danielle. No further discussion required.

Ian: Dan. After Danielle’s antics this week he won’t be interested in giving her the crown even if Dan has to cut him for Ian to be in the Jury.

If the Jury votes personal then Danielle could carry this 5-2 over Dan. If they go game play and strategy then Dan wins it. Dan played such a deadly game that the cuts he made went deep and if they haven’t healed by tonight then he could lose it all to her.

I’ve got to say I’ll be disappointed if Dan doesn’t go to the end with Danielle. He faced imminent elimination when he was down to just one player after the first week of the game and yet here he is along with that same last player. If he made it to the end with her he could stand up and say that he accomplished both goals: as a coach he got his player to the end and as a player he got himself there. It’d be powerful and an incredible achievement against some heavy odds. But, like I said, I don’t think we’re going to see that happen tonight.

Overall, I think Dan will win it tonight, but it won’t be a 7-0 blowout like he achieved last time. I think it could be a lot closer when the final vote is revealed.

So there are my thoughts and expectations for tonight. Now it’s your turn. Who do you think will move on to the Final 2 and who do you think has the best chance to win it all? Share your thoughts below and vote in the poll for who will take the crown.

It’s time to finish off the season’s Top 10 events from Big Brother 14. We ran through the first half of the best moments yesterday so we’re back with the rest of the list. Let’s get right to it picking up at number five.

#5: Double Your Evictions, Double Your Fun

I love double eviction nights. Love ‘em. It’s an entire week of Big Brother rolled up in to 43 minutes of airtime and none of it’s disappointing regardless of how it turns out. This season we got two double evictions and it was everything we could hope for it to be.

Both nights provided exciting results with big targets eliminated and backfired eviction attempts. The first one snagged Boogie and the second caught Frank after he dodged a bullet in the first double eviction night. Ian still doesn’t know how close he came to being sent packing after Dan renominated him before securing his safety with the Veto.

Unfortunately both nights ended with disappointing second evictions with Ashley the first time and Joe the second. At least we got the fun of Ashley’s failed eviction plea and Joe’s silent delivery of his own.

#4: Coaches Hit The Reset

I was not happy at all about this “twist” but after Willie got himself thrown out of the game it was obvious that something needed to be done to get the schedule back on track. The messiest part of the night was production’s decision to introduce the twist before the eviction rather than after. This took things from too few HGs to too many and completely negated Shane’s HoH while exposing his attempt to shock and blindside Frank that night. What a waste of what could have been an incredible moment in the season.

So the coaches entered the game and became HGs. Great. Last season all over again. Well thankfully it didn’t totally go that way as Janelle was immediately evicted and Boogie went out not far behind her with even Britney two weeks later. Now only Dan remains and is likely to head right on in to the final two. I’m hoping this gets Vets out of Grodner’s system, but I fear it won’t.

#3: Pork Rinds & Headbutts

Willie told me preseason he didn’t want to get evicted for dropping a deuce (his plan to jokingly leave the toilet unflushed each time), but instead he deemed it better to drop a deuce on his chances in the game. Following a Coaches’ comp where Britney’s entire team was punished to be Have-Nots, Willie let his temper get the better of him. Charging down Joe, Willie foolishly knocked in to him with a headbutt and that was enough. CBS only showed one hit while HGs swore there were several. Since we didn’t get to watch it on the Feeds we’ll never know what really happened, but suffice to say it was enough for Willie to be sent home and uninvited from the season finale.

I was greatly disappointed to lose Willie even if it was only a few days before he likely would have been evicted anyway. His time in the house was brief but he was causing fights and calling house meetings. He was involved in more fights in his few days than other HGs even witnessed through the rest of the season. Willie lost out, HGs lost out, and we lost out when Willie was expelled.

#2: Blindside Mania

When word came back from the Final 4′s Veto competition that Danielle held all the power it seemed inevitable that Ian would be evicted. I mean, there’s just no way Danielle would agree to let Shane get evicted, right? Enter Dan.

It was just another string of incredible puppet mastering like we had seen from Dan over and over. He convinced Danielle and Shane that the best option for them was to let him evict Ian so they didn’t get the blood on their hands. Try to explain to me why either person would think it makes sense for another HG to be offering to do the dirty work at this late stage in the game. Shane told me that he didn’t so much agree to the plan as he simply trusted Dan and Danielle. Meanwhile I just don’t believe that Danielle didn’t have the slightest suspicion that Dan was about to make this move. Maybe she wasn’t sure, but I think she was considering it somewhere in the back of her mind.

So all day we waited and waited knowing what was about to hit the house. Anxious for the event to finally arrive I feared something would go wrong and Danielle would change her mind at the last minute. Nope. It all went through. Shane pretended to be surprised by Danielle’s use of the Veto, climbed up on the tee, and Dan swung away. My only disappointment was Shane’s reaction. He didn’t get angry or shocked, he just accepted Dan’s decision and left. Shane, you’re too nice! You could have at least given us Dustin’s patented jaw drop from BB8, Shane. I guess Danielle did that for us.

It was an incredible blindside and the best moment of live Big Brother action all season. Only one thing topped it.

#1: The Death & Rebirth of Dan

It was the greatest moment in the season. There’s little debate here. I had readied myself to call it a night when I saw Dan had just requested a house meeting that evening. I had no idea what we were in for as he started out and I was shocked when he dropped that bomb on Danielle. It was fantastic.

One day earlier Dan had been defeated. He was on the block and lost a crucial Veto competition. As Dan described it, he had many chances to dodge the danger but he let it slip through his fingers. Then after 24 hours of solitary confinement Dan returned with a new plan, quite possibly the most well executed plan we’ve ever seen. He hosted a house meeting under the guise of his “Big Brother funeral” but in fact it turned out to be his rebirth in this game.

We all know how it went, so I won’t waste pixels retelling it further, but damn it was amazing. Dan went from dead man walking to not even being on the block anymore! His opposition had taken on devastating punishments at the Veto comp to insure his demise and now he had them fighting to save him. Along with securing his safety he managed to convince the house he was at odds with is closet ally Danielle. It was incredibly well executed and set him up for safe sailing right to the very end. Amazing.

A cloud of mist settled over the house this season and if Dan doesn’t emerge from it carrying another enormous check then I’ll be disappointed in the jury’s priorities.

Side note: Not all of these “top 10 events” are listed because I found them to be my favorite moments, but rather more for their impact on the game. There were lots of hilarious antics and silly events, but I trended toward ranking on importance factors rather than just fun.

11:15 AM BBT — Feeds return. Small talk about The Talk follows.

12:15 PM BBT — Dan talking about the Diary Room stirring stuff up. Not sure what he means because production interferes.

1:13 PM BBT — Dan asks Ian if he should stop messing with Danielle. He says no.

5:12 PM BBT — Dan talks Danielle into telling Ian she has breast implants. She swears him to secrecy.

5:40 PM BBT — Dan asks Ian if he thinks Danielle knows that neither of them are taking her to F2. Ian said he hopes she realizes and isn’t getting her hopes up. Of course none of us are even sure what Dan’s really thinking any longer.

6:05 PM BBT — Dan tells Ian about giving Memphis his chain the night before the last round of the HoH in Season 10 to prove the loyalty. Dan says he will give Ian his necklace like he did Memphis. Dan confuses us all more.

8:42 PM BBT — Danielle makes Dan swear on his wife that he won’t throw the final HoH. He tells her that if wins the final round, he will fulfill the promise he made to her on the first night.

10:15 PM BBT — Virtually no talk about the game or what needs to happen. Dan and Danielle playing cards. Ian rocking in his hammock.

1:30 AM BBT — Dan remains awake and is rehearsing and timing his jury speech. The speech includes a case against Ian, so it sounds like that’s who Dan plans to be sitting next to. Interesting. We shall see, though.
