Last night’s show set us up with two new Heads of Household and their nominations are in so the house can start preparing for the next Battle of the Block later today.

Big Brother 16 Week 5 Nominations:
As part of a contest with CBS I was very fortunate to win a trip out to last night’s live Big Brother 16 eviction show. While I had been to the CBS Studios lot several times for pre-season interviews, I had never stepped inside Studio 18. Now I can scratch that dream off my list.
Yes, as a Big Brother fan since season one it was a huge goal of mine to get inside that studio and be just steps away from the Houseguests on the other side of that door. While I know that doesn’t exactly make me part of an exclusive club, it’s still a unique experience and one I wanted to share with other fans who might not have had that same opportunity.
My wife, Kelley, and I arrived at the lot in Burbank as instructed nearly three hours before the show began. We checked in at the security gate and our driver, oh yes we were chauffeured – living the high life – took us right up to the Studio 18 door marked “BB Reception.” Stepping inside we checked in with a second level of security and were ushered into the Big Brother Green Room.
Inside the room I continued to geek out over the Big Brother memorabilia throughout. On the walls we found a piece of “artwork” featuring Zingbot crossing the Delaware from last season’s Veto comp. There was a framed shadow box of Jase’s shattered piggy bank from Season 5. Another from Season 2 featuring Ophelia’s harness (Ophelia was the pot bellied pig house pet). A small “X” from Season 4’s “X-Factor” theme. And a framed picture from last season’s 500th episode.
This week on Big Brother, HG Brittany Martinez saw her time in the BB16 house come to an end with a unanimous vote to evict over Donny Thompson. Once outside the house Brittany seemed to breath a sigh of relief and while disappointed to be out of the game she was thrilled to see her children right there on the stage.
Today I had the chance to pose some questions to Brittany and get her take on the season, her game, and what she’s got planned for next in her life.
Matthew Boyer – Big Brother Network (BBN): Were you surprised by the vote count or did you start to see this coming before the eviction?
Brittany Martinez: Yes and no. I was surprised by the vote count, but I did kind of expect it because the house votes the same prettymuch.
BBN: Why did you decide to pick Caleb over Amber for the Veto comp with your HG’s choice chip?
Brittany: I decided to pick Caleb because after talking to him I actually enjoyed our conversation. I trusted him a bit more and Amber, to me, was always very questionable. I always felt in the back of my mind I couldn’t trust her.
BBN: You spoke a lot about who deserved to stay in the game? Why did you feel you deserved to be there more than other HGs?
Brittany: I just felt that I was given a bad deck of cards from the beginning. I was on the block three times, I was on slop for two weeks, and then the penalty challenge. I just felt that I was continuously fighting to stay in the house.
BBN: What do you think was your best move & what might have been your worst?
If this was Survivor they would have mixed the tribes up by now since the balance of power has been skewed to one side of Big Brother 16.
After another unanimous vote, Brittany was sent out the door. The CBS show did not give us the false edit like they did last week, Brit was a goner no matter how hard she tried to campaign. Instead we got a fluff piece with Nicole & Hayden’s slow moving showmance. Only part of that I found entertaining was the little kid saying she did not like Hayden “trying to make sex with Nicole.”
Last night on Big Brother 16 we saw Frankie Grande return to power for his third time while Zach Rance officially moved in to the HoH room for the first time. Some Big Brother fans were worried about a predictable week, but after watching the overnight events, I don’t think we have to be worried about that.
Adding on to the instability that is Zach’s game, Team America was at work with their latest mission: cause chaos. I’ll let you go ahead and guess who Frankie thought would make the perfect target on that one as he’d be in the necessary position to set up a heated argument.
It was a busy night in the Big Brother 16 house as new Heads of Household Frankie and Zach were scrambling to have a plan in motion incase they are forced to make nominations early in the morning.
So that means we got a night filled with strategy talks, confusion, paranoia, annoyance and just about every other emotion and state of mind that exists. Find out what else happened on the Big Brother feeds last night.
