Former Winners Offer Big Brother 20 Cast Advice

Julie Chen hosts Big Brother 20

Big Brother 20 Houseguests will soon be gathered up and shipped off to Los Angeles as they prepare for entering the house and spending their summer keeping us entertained. While they’re busy planning their strategies some of former BB winners are offering up advice to take with them this summer before things kick off with the season premiere on Wednesday, June 27, 2018!

EvelDick, winner of Big Brother 8 and easily one of the biggest personalities to come out of the series, gave a major list of pointers and tips to this summer’s cast. If you’ve made it to the point of being a finalist for this year then read his list thoroughly. If you’re thinking of trying again for another season then you’ll want to bookmark these for later.

Several highlights from EvelDick’s list here include remembering to be yourself. Don’t try to replicate another famous player. They’re remembered for being the first one of them, not a repeat of someone else.

Don't try to be the next Dr. Will or Janelle or Dan or whoever…
Be the first YOU that people who follow will want to be like

Next, don’t forget that you won’t be in power forever. Don’t play your week of control like it lasts more than a few days, because it won’t.

If you are HOH, don't think you'll be there every other week. We hear this stupid shit almost every season. You don't need to be HOH to get who you want on the block and voted out, those are the best players.

Celebrations can be a big reveal so keep yours in check and focus on the other HGs in that critical few moments at the end of a comp.

And yeah, don’t let yourself get dragged down by a showmance either from being part of it or letting one stay way too long in the game. See a couple forming? Shut it down. Immediately.

Once you’ve got your strategy squared away, don’t forget that it’s ultimately just a game and won’t define who you are. Big Brother 17’s winner Steven Moses reminds the new Big Brother Houseguests to keep things in perspective. It’s just a game, but there’s also a $500K check waiting for one of you at the end, so…

And finally, last season’s winner Josh Martinez reminds you that anyone can turn out to be a player and not to discount someone who could surprise you later. Why do I get the feeling he’s still talking to last season’s cast instead of this year’s?

And for even more in-depth advice I’d really recommend the Big Brother 20 cast to take a read through BB16’s winner Derrick Levasseur’s advice for HGs as well as what Steven Moses wrote for future casts as well. But in the end, like EvelDick said, you’ve got to be you and play your own game.

Good luck to all our soon-to-be Big Brother 20 Houseguests. Can’t wait to see what you bring us and hopefully it’s a season that delivers!

For the rest of us non-future-HGs, what would you want to tell this season’s cast? What tips or wish-list would you send their way? Share your thoughts below as we wait for the new season to begin on Wednesday, June 27th! Join us on Facebook & Twitter for even more BB20 updates.
