Diary Room: Derrick Levasseur’s “Weekly Warriors” – Big Brother 17 Week 4

Again, if they feel they can’t beat you, it becomes more enticing to send you home. Finally, he has thrown a lot of competitions and if that gets out to the rest of the houseguests (especially the ones who were partnered with him), it will damage his relationships and create and easy argument to send him home. Nobody wants to be in a BOB with a habitual competition thrower.

Johnny Mac needs to step his game up, win an HOH, use it to build a few relationships (other than with Becky), and show that he’s someone who can help them get to the end. Relationships are building fast in that house and I would hate to see Johnny get close to the end and then voted out just because he was the odd man out.

Some players, like Jason and Johnny Mac, catch my attention for their strong gameplay. Austin Matelson is not one of those players. Austin proved to us early on that he is not very knowledgeable about the facets of Big Brother and also doesn’t appear to be very in-tune with what’s going on around him. But I could overlook those flaws.

The bottom line was he had a great relationship with Vanessa and was part of the “Sixth Sense”, a strong alliance that was willing to protect them. Then he was struck by cupid’s arrow and it all went downhill from there. His blind love for Liz has seriously jeopardized his game. He himself has said that he would sacrifice his own game just to protect hers. Just in the last 12 hours, Austin decided it was a good idea to tell Jason about the twins in an attempt to build a relationship with him.

Mind you, he did not consult with the “Sixth Sense” before doing so. Naturally, Jason told Shellie, Shellie told Clay and Vanessa, and now you have them talking about moving forward with alternate houseguests. Congratulations Austin, you just blew up the two best things you had going for you in the game. I hope for his sake he is able to survive long enough to make it to the jury house with Liz. Problem is, Liz is actually playing a decent game and if she has it her way, will never step foot in the jury house. Judas and his top hat will not be happy…

    • I could tolerate Jason better if he would cut the “F” word from his vocabulary. It’s annoying. Love John.

  1. I’ll say John is my favorite, and every week I’m seeing how more and more of these players will get evicted, especially Austin. I doubt Chellie will win either, but I do know that John is walking a thin line between winning and eviction. I would say though this season needs to really get started and get rid of the Battle of the Block so we can actually see people try to make a big move instead of nominate weak players to stay in power or throw competitions for a promise of safety.

  2. I just don’t get why everyone runs to Shelli with everything they hear, she needs to stop winning comps and just sit back and wait til final 5 to win again, as she seems to be no one’s target. However, personally I’d love to see Jackie win next week and put her up (I think Jackie is the only one that might), I just want to watch her fall hard from grace and make her a have-not too just to make it all the more fun to watch.

    • Yes, I agree that Shelli needs to get a taste of slop this week, and also nominated. We know how she dishes it, let us see how she takes it.

      • Well when you’re HOH 2 out of 4 weeks you have the right to dish it out. That’s her job as HOH. And one of the other weeks it was her alliance in control. Can’t blame her for playing a great game!

      • “Great” game is in the eye of the beholder. I don’t give anyone ANY credit for playing a great game until they have the guts and smarts to do it on their own merits. A showmance is never on your own merits. As soon as her boytoy leaves, I’ll give her credit where credit is due…as long as she quits all that crying. LOL

    • Jackie won’t put Shelli up. Jackie wants Vanessa and Steve gone. She’s building trust with Shelli.

  3. Not sure which set of twins I’d rather see go, Liz and Julia, or Austin and Judas.

  4. If Austin is confronted by this info (and you know he will be told) about the twins being shared throughout the house, he may well try to win next HoH. He may have to, for his own safety. That would not be good.

  5. Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain ~~ keep smilin’ and dancin’ John!

  6. Vouching for Jason to go along far, he seems to have great skills at getting out of tough situations and that will prove helpful these coming weeks when the true drama will unravel with the twins fiasco, Austin’s constant jabber and the Shelli + Clay “show-mance” which will most likely die down seeing as one of them will be evicted. Hopefully a house flip is in the works -fingers crossed-

  7. “(If they don’t think they can beat you, they won’t take you to the end).”

Unless of course your name is Cody, who was so thoroughly brainwashed or hypnotized or whatever that he took the one who who could easily beat him over an easy win to the final 2.
