‘Big Brother OTT’ Upcoming Events Today: Safety Ceremony

Our first Saturday on Big Brother Over The Top brings some definite schedule shifts from what we’re used to with the summer season of Big Brother. There’s no Power of Veto comp today but instead we’ll have a few more events to fill the day for BBOTT.

Monte and Shane bump it out on BBOTT

Coming up first we’d normally see the Have-Not reveal but that is likely not happening this debut week. Then later we have the Safety Ceremony and that should definitely be arriving tonight.

The Have-Not reveal is on the schedule for every Saturday at 4PM ET (1PM PT) but here’s the rub on today’s schedule. Viewers are supposedly voting for the HNs but that vote didn’t happen this week and we’re just a few hours away from when that reveal would happen. CBS confirmed via Twitter that the HN vote would start next week instead.

With no vote for HNs I wouldn’t be surprised if this week’s Have-Not reveal came and went with nothing happening unless they use some other determining factor for this decision. We’ll keep an eye out at 4PM ET, but I’m not holding my breath.

On to the next thing, Safety Ceremony. There’s no getting around nominations so that’s definitely happening and Monte is preparing for it. We’ll get that event at 10PM ET (7PM PT) when the HoH (Monte this week) names a set of HGs to be safe from the initial round of nominations. Then on Sunday we’ll get a second ceremony at the same time to finalize who is safe and who isn’t.

This morning Monte told Shane he was considering Alex, CB, Danielle, and Neeley for this first round of HGs to be declared safe. I don’t know if he knows for sure he’ll be picking exactly four names or if that’s just what he is anticipating as all the HGs were told very general details on this new ceremony.

Since the Safety Ceremony is new we’ll have to watch and see what happens with it. We’ll do a live recap of the event tonight which will also be available afterwards as a clip segment to watch later in your All Access account.

Remember this is no Weekday Replay event tonight since it’s not a weekday. Those will resume on Monday. So possibly HNs today at 4PM ET if someone besides us pick them otherwise that will start next Saturday. Then Safety Ceremony tonight at 10PM ET. Other than that enjoy your Live Feeds and your Saturday.

    • Nope. CBS caught a lot of grief for it on Twitter too.

They really need to follow the schedule if they want fans to keep viewing.

      • I agree. I can’t watch 24/7 and I sure hope they stick to a schedule starting next week.

  1. It’s kinda too bad that production has shifted the POV from Saturday to Monday. Having a *live* POV on Saturday would really allow a large number of OTT viewers to enjoy a meaningful comp live as a group. Even Sunday would be a better option than Monday.

Instead we get this slow-burning safety ceremony all weekend. Oh and the Have-Not reveal (but not this Saturday, maybe next?).

    • From what I’m reading in the comments section here a lot of people are getting annoyed and frustrated with the way CBS keeps changing things. Hopefully they’ll get their act together soon :D

  2. I don’t know why they can’t do the safety ceremony all in one day! Lets not talk about that 2 day boring comp, which was not over the top! I’m give it a week and may have to give up on watching this!

    • You’re probably just used to have them all those first 2 weeks packed in one episode than seeing the game unfold straight from Day 1 onwards.

  3. Who is Monte closest to? I think it may be Shane or Cornbread.
I like Shane somewhat, but it will be great if the viewers get to vote for a third nominee and it will be someone from Monte’s alliance. That will make the game a bit more interesting since HOH doesn’t have all the power.

    • Yes! Great thinking.

Monte was tight with Shane for the first few days. But since then Shane as been spending time with Danielle and Monte fears a showmance is brewing between them. He worried this could mean he’ll lose Shane’s ultimate loyalty. Monte was discussing all of this with CB yesterday, they’re getting closer as a result it seems.

  4. What a disappointment this show is. The concept has potential but the scheduling is all over the place and there have been no riveting comps or much of anything going on. A week long free trial is nowhere near long enough to hook me into this show and I will not be paying to continue with this snoozefest.
