Talking with CBS LA on Wednesday Kass discussed what to bring to the auditions, what to expect, and what is that “It Factor” the casting team is seeking for the Big Brother 18 cast.

Jumping right in to it, the anchors ask Robyn is there a sure thing for making it into the season’s cast:

CBS LA: Do you know when you see someone come in for an audition, “that guy’s in, that girl is in”?

Robyn Kass: Yes and no… I think it gets harder and harder every year because we’re trying to find different types, different personalities, different energies, different looks, representing different places of the country.

Now, Season 18, I just want totally different things.

If somebody amazing is in front of me, sure. It doesn’t happen all that often, but yeah, sometimes they just have that “It Factor” and you’re like, “I want more.”

The talk goes on to cover just what is that “must-have” quality Kass mentions. Robyn explains that it’s like when you’re at a dinner party and while some guests are boring there are others who draw you in. “It’s the inflection in their voice. It’s the way they laugh. It’s the way they speak. You want to hear more. It’s the same thing when you’re casting for Big Brother.”

Sounds like the tip here is to be engaging, outgoing, and entertaining. Don’t hold back when you’re there at these auditions!

Robyn says her casting team does not go in to the season with a checklist of what they’re looking for each season but rather “go in with an open mind and see who is in front of us.”

As for what to bring to the casting events? Nothing but yourself, says Kass, though we’ve heard before you need your ID. You’re probably walking around with that anyway. Otherwise, prepare to spend a couple of hours since there’s going to be a waiting line. Come rested, ready, and looking your best.

What sort of questions will you hear? Be ready to answer why you’ll be a great Houseguest, tell how competitive you are, and “don’t come with a planned monologue.” Just be ready to talk, says Kass.

  1. So THIS IS who is responsible for the disgusting twins and the creepy austin? What exactly was their “it” factor?
