Big Brother 20: When Will The New Season Begin?

Julie Chen hosts Big Brother on CBS

Update: Finally! Big Brother 20 starts June 27th on CBS. Details here…

Summer is nearly here and with it comes Big Brother 20, or at least that’s what we’ve been told to expect. But when will the new season of Big Brother begin? CBS has yet to say and it’s leaving us wondering what’s going on!

We’re now in mid-May and looking back at just the past two seasons we’ve had the Big Brother start date announced in mid-March. That puts us at roughly two months behind the show’s recent preseason routine.

I reached out to our press contact for Big Brother and it was confirmed that no BB20 premiere date has yet to be revealed and no expected announcement date was available at the time.

First off, I’m not worried about this season happening. CBS renewed the series back in 2016 through 2018 for what turned in to 4 seasons worth of Big Brother since then. So it’s going to happen and we even know it will not be a Big Brother All-Stars season. Grodner mentioned in that same interview that the house has been overhauled yet again so they’ve been working away at it.

Since I’m left to guess at what’s going on maybe there’s something else going on with the summer schedule that they’re waiting to sort out to lock down the full schedule plans. Might have nothing to do with Big Brother, but it’s tied up in the delay. Or maybe they’re still tinkering with the season’s duration, which has been running a tad long in recent years.

Who knows. Certainly not me! But I will keep watching and waiting for the announcement for when Big Brother starts this summer. For now, we can pencil in a late June arrival like we’ve grown used to seeing and be ready to make it official when CBS gives the word.

Are you ready for Big Brother 20? Casting is still cranking away and Kassting Inc has promised to reach those who have been selected, so all the best of luck to them. In the meantime we’ll be here waiting and waiting and…
