Lights were turned up bright last night as the Big Brother 17 finale arrived and everyone was ready for the camera with the season’s big reveal set to be announced.

One thing I really liked was Liz’s shock…and then her genuine appreciation…when Steve evicted Vanessa. She was sincerely thankful that Steve gave her 50K. For me, it was the one authentic moment she truly had in the house. I wish she wasn’t so aloof and rude the entire season because her sincerity in that moment was a nice moment. (Amusingly, Steve saw it was someone easier to defeat but by doing so, Liz went home $50,000 richer.)

I knew Vanessa was going to lose. There was no way Steve was gonna pull a Cody.
Vanessa was her own worst enemy during the game. She played the game too hard. She made so many questionable moves, and had a terrible social game. Derrick was able to win based on his strategic moves, and amazing social game. But that was Vanessa’s downfall. Her biggest mistake was not evicting Steve, and blindsiding Austin. Had she evicted Steve, Steve wouldn’t have won.
But why would Vanessa want to be in a final 3 with a showmance? Vanessa didn’t make any mistake, I think she lost because of the last HOH question.
Who cares. She lost. And I’m pleased.

Vanessa was the true winner, anyone could see that. Now Stevie, with his money, can go to a shrink to help him come out of the closet. A 22 year old college student that refers to people as “meanie poopoo’s?” He needs to grow up!
